RIASC is dedicated to developing the effectiveness of Rhode Island school committee members in meeting their roles and responsibilities in promoting student achievement in safe and challenging learning environments, while playing a leading part in shaping and advocating public education policy at the local, state and national levels.

Rhode Island school committee chairs held a lively discussion with the new Commissioner of Education, Ken Wagner, at a recent meeting hosted by RIASC.
On May 2, 2015, over 60 school committee members attended RIASC’s Annual Meeting at the Crowne Plaza and listened to presentations on Competency Based Learning and the future of school committees.
