Brousseau Receives Howard Kay Award

Congratulations to Michelle Brousseau, South Kingstown School Committee member, who is the 2022 Howard Kay Award winner.

Michelle’s colleague, Michael Marran, presented the award at RIASC’s Annual Meeting, stating that she has been a consistent advocate for the best education for the Town’s students and has shown reason over emotion in decision making and maintaining a professional atmosphere.

Upon accepting the Award, Michelle was overwhelmed and so grateful to be recognized for outstanding school committee leadership.

A public school teacher for 32 years, Ms. Brousseau was elected to the school committee in 2012.  A product of South Kingstown schools, she currently chairs the Strategic Planning Subcommittee and also served on the Accountability and Budget Subcommittees. For years she served as Legislative Liaison for the school committee.

Michelle also has accrued many hours of professional development through RIASC and has achieved Master’s Academy status.

Congratulations Michelle!
