Kate Brody Recipient of the 2018 Howard Kay Award

Kate Brody, Chair of the Barrington School Committee,  was awarded the 2018 Howard Kay Award at RIASC’s Annual Meeting.  The award is given annually for outstanding school committee leadership.

Kate was nominated by her fellow school committee members who, in their nomination letter, extolled Kate’s accomplishments and stated that “Kate is a leader and advocate for public education who brings enthusiasm wherever she goes.  She is the consummate public servant who is 100 percent dedicated to serving the students of Barrington’s schools, the taxpayers of Barrington, and the educational community in Rhode Island.”

Kate has participated in over 300 hours of professional development through the Association and is a member of the Master’s Academy.
