Mary Anne Roll Elected RIASC President

Mary Anne Roll of the Lincoln School Committee was elected to serve as President of the Rhode Island Association of School Committees at the 2018 Annual Meeting.

Mary Anne has served on the Lincoln School Committee since 2004 and has served on the RIASC Board in various capacities since 2014.  Her past service has included serving as President of the PTA and she was the Director of the Cumberland School Volunteers for 17 years, retiring in June of 2017.

Dedicated to lifelong learning, Mary Anne is a graduate of RIASC’s Leadership Academy and has accrued over 300 hours of professional development with RIASC, making her a member of the Master’s Academy.

Upon becoming President, Mary Anne stated, “I believe serving on a school committee is the best work you can do in your local community.  RIASC has provided me the opportunity to grow as a school committee member.  As president of RIASC, I look forward to working with the Executive Board, as well as other school committee members across the State, to support  the mission of the Rhode Island Association of School Committees.”
